![]() ![]() The mid driver is where so much of the magic is, the detail and resolution on offer is truly incredible and as so much program material is in this critical band, for me The 25’s are brutal, anything less than the perfect mix will scream out at you to fix it !! The only downside was hearing my old mixes made with K&H 0300’s and realising just how many mix errors I’d made. ![]() Yet they translate for many.įor me they were a “game changer” (though I hate to use that term) but really it’s a true statement. If you can live with the above they are really hard to beat, to get to a complete speaker that I would pick over the 25’s it would be the 50’s or the smallest Quested custom series ( more bass more distortion but as close distortion wise as it gets). For some this is perfect, for others distortion be damned I need my lowend ( I tend to fall into this group but I still want great bass!) the biggest problem for most who don’t like ATC is they really, really are hard to mate well with a sub other than ones that say ATC! The hardest thing to get use to with any ATC is the lowend, they don’t go as low as most but what you get in return is the lowest distortion of any dynamic driver made. ![]() To keep them at a reasonable size they use The non SL woofer and non S mid blus a Scanpeak? I think tweeter, you won’t notice unless you do a side by side with the more expensive ATC drivers, I can only think of one Non ATC dome that beats this one. Close to the back wall will give a bit more lowend, but they really sing with at least 1 foot behind them or more. Yes they are a 3 way near field, but they are not near field in the modern sense that you can taste them your so close, these are near field as in 3-4 feet away on the bridge of a console. ATC doesn’t know how to build a bad speaker, the 25 is interesting. ![]()
